I'd be happy enough to go out on penalties to leicester today. Man utd haven't had a midweek off since August of 2019

I actually thought the semi-finals had already been drawn prior to the sixth round. Which shows how much attention I've been paying.

The competition has largely passed me by this season, but I can still splutter some indignation at the SF draw taking place today at half-time. FFS.

Southampton first to book a trip to Wembley. Are the semis both at Wembley again this year? Man City join them there.

Ah, OK, many thanks; they're 3 weeks earlier this year then, followed by a gap of 5 and half weeks to the QFs.

Last season's FA Cup was the first in which fifth round ties were played midweek, taking place the week before the first Covid related postponements.

Having just seen the lineups, I'd be stunned if we got close to that. 3-0 at best I'd say

Apparently I should be able to watch the final this season. If, of course, it happens...

2-0 a respectable defeat. Not too unhappy.

Tbf but for some last ditch heroics Shrewsbury would have been well beaten tonight.

Ward-Prowse gets a goal to finally kill it

Cumdog on for a centre half. Adventurous or what? Expect either a spectacular 25-yrd top corner piledriver or a golden 1-on-1 blazed out for a throw-in.

Other than the goal which was slightly unfortunate, a solid performance from Salop so far tonight, but I'm struggling to see an equaliser. More likely a 2nd for Saints on the break. Still we're giving it a go. Just not quite the required accuracy when we see an opening.

After our keeper conceded from a goal kick tonight (Newport's only shot on target) I bet Man City are shitting themselves about coming to Whaddon Road on Saturday.

The FA can overrule the EPL on fixtures? Leeds might welcome having a pause, though.
