Yes, yes, okay - the point remains that we don’t really need two threads. That’s all I’m failing to say.

(‘Scotch mist’ always sounds like some kind of house-fragrance to me. ‘New from AmbiPur’, or suchlike.)

We don't need any threads at all, do we? Anyway, this is coming over I'm sure as me arguing, which I'm not. I don't agree with you, I think it's a shame, I'd like everyone to talk about their armchair football watching together, I think that would be nice, especially now there's even more non-Prem armchair-watching than ever. But things are as they are, and that's fine.

I thought the armchair threads were because people moaned about megathreads last season. Now people are moaning that they want megathreads.

Perhaps we need a committee you sort this out.

Sporting I'm not a doctor. But when my brother did his ACL in a 5 a side the damage was compounded when he drove home afterwards.

I'm not sure we need a full-blown committee. A small working party to make recommendations should do the trick.

Maybe we need a working party to determine the best approach moving forward in terms of establishing governance arrangements.

That's how things would proceed in my workplace

Good point. We'll also need Heads of Agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding.

I’ll leave all that to you lot.

Meanwhile I’ll continue posting on here assuming that the thread title continues to be an indication of what’s being discussed.

                  Hahaha.

I will try to only post in 'armchair' if I am actually watching the game on TV, or planning to. However, it would still be necessary to keep an eye on the other thread.

Due to poor discipline among prem fans, absolutely.

Nowhere near as much as the assault. I hardly think a 50 yard limp is the defining point of the injury.

I'm sure I've been told by people who know more than I that what you do after an initial trauma is pretty important. But I have no specialist ACL knowledge, so I defer to those who do.

                            Fuck off, Pep.

Hence the use of the word exacerbated.

                                Quite

When I did my ACL, MCL and more in a high school basketball game, I made things yet worse by walking home (3+ km) after the feckless.basketball coach and PE teacher assured.me that my ankle was fine.

By the time I reached the house, I couldn't climb the rather short steps to the door and my knee had swelled to a size that required my trousers to be cut off in order for them to be removed.

Looks like draws in the PL are a thing again. Before this weekend I think we'd only had three of them, but that figure has now more than doubled in just over 24 hours.

I'd sympathise and say you shouldn't have been made to walk home except it might attract another string of people pointing out to me that you walking home wasn't what injured you in the first place

I broke my leg playing football once. Limped off in pain, realised I wasn't going to be able to play on so drove home. Had a miserable evening at home dosed up on painkillers before driving to the hospital in the morning. The doctor looked at my x-ray and said "how did you get here?" I told him and he said "do you have someone you can ask to come and pick you up and the car?"

He did say that he thought I'd probably not done any further damage to the leg but that was luck rather than anything else

My mate broke his foot in the middle of a gig. He was so hyped on adrenaline that he didn't realise it until two days later when he couldn't walk.

My dad had his jaw broken at school during a rugby match, this being the good old days, the masters just told him to get up and get on with it. He ended up with the classic Asterix style bandage around the jaw over the top of his head.

Oh, and Spurs? Never change. Please.

Another one at whatever Spurs now play at. After being 3 up with less than 10 minutes to play. Mourinho used to laugh at the basketball type scores he first met in English football.

Much as I loathe West Ham, that appears to have been very funny...

That was a pretty gratuitous dig at Moyes, really. Joining the baying throng.

This must have been an awfully tense week for him really, on top of having covid. I apologise, and I'm glad to see him jumping down a touchline.

Just to get this straight from now on : if you want to directly comment on Premier league game, do we do it here or on the weekly armchair thread?
