Off to the seaside for Bridlington Town v Knaresborough Town. Mainly because I've got some free Northern rail tickets and I want to get them used up as I'm not sure if they'll still be valid post-nationalisation, so this is a good way to tick off one of the more distant NCEL grounds. Also free day out = more beer money.

Bit of Argyle against Newport for me. Going to try out the new seats in the Lower Mayflower (for those of you that have been to Home Park that's the bit to the left of the away end below the grandstand) and have been fervently checking the weather forecast all week as word has it that pretty much all the seats are open to the elements. XCWeather says no rain so all should be good.

Bolton v Tranmere tomorrow. There was quite a rivalry developed between the two clubs during the late 80s and through to the 1990s. This season saw the first meeting in around 19 or so years.
The part of me that's matured since our last battles bears them no ill will. However, accepting that we're already dead and buried, the other part of me hopes we drag these beggars down with us.

I'm not sure if the recent introduction of occasional Friday night games has ever pushed it in to January but I can't recall one.

Indeed, it started on 1 February last season (the earliest since Italy joined, along with 2014)Last edited by ursus arctos; 31-01-2020, 15:06.

Off to Southend for first time since god knows when. Not watched Lincoln since our defeat against Sunderland and don't have high hopes of improving our away form, despite Southend's struggles. Gonna get their early and walk down the pier. If we lose, I might go back there and throw myself off.

Edit : 1964 was Jan 4th!
Further edit : The switch to February doesn't actually look to have occurred until 1998 (with one exception in 1987), a little after professionalism came in.Last edited by Ray de Galles; 31-01-2020, 15:41.
