In spite of the best efforts of the British railway network I was at Cheshunt v Bowers and Pitsea yesterday along with 132 hardy souls. An entertaining 1-1 draw. The ground is now modern on three sides, which made it very hard to like. The fourth side had a small 1970's-looking cantilever terrace set far back from the pitch and unusable due to the cretinous placing of the dugouts. If reincarnation exists I'm going to come back as a football ground designer and right these villainous wrongs.

Forgot to mention that I've never heard a ref get as much stick off the players as at this game. Proper abuse. His confidence must have been shattered by the end of it. I have genuinely no idea what he got out of the evening. Maybe it's the same at every game but it gets lost on the ear with bigger crowds...Comment
