At some point, I hope some expansion team decides to go back to a proper North American plural name.

NWSL to Sacramento is now being reported as certain, probably next year, maybe 2022.
Tobin Heath and Christen Press are being chased by Manchester United.
CONCACAF qualifying schedule is out. The US has 11 games to qualify, basically, because the last 3 are at Mexico, home to a preliminary group winner that may well be Panama, and at Costa Rica. Also, we might end up opening away to...T&T. Canada meanwhile needs to get their preliminary round sponsored by Royal Caribbean Cruises: home to Bermuda and Suriname, at Aruba & the Cayman Islands.
Son of Klinsmann signs for the Galaxy.

St. Louis FC in the USL is officially dead after the season ends.
Colorado Springs Switchbacks were down 4-0 at halftime to Austin yesterday and got a 4-4 draw out of it.
And it's been a fun day in Salt Lake City. RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen went on the morning show of one of the many radio stations he owns in SLC to rage about how disappointed he was that the RSL players chose not to play last night. He said he felt like he was being stabbed in the back, among other things, and was as a result of this not going to open the stadium to fans for the rest of the season and as a consequence fire 40 or 50 people. He's also a billionaire who spent a million dollars to buy a rare dime a few years ago.
Everything has since gone absolutely apeshit, with plenty of allegations of previous racist and awful behavior by him for years rapidly coming out, MLS is apparently working on a way to take the franchise from him, his own players from RSL and the Utah Royals are laying into him, and this will NOT end well. RSL's SB nation site, rslsoapbox.com has a timeline of what was said and reactions and assorted relevant links.

Yeah, RSL/Utah Royals/Real Monarchs has gone from bad to worse to oh god. Dell Loy Hansen is going to sell out, and today's rslsoapbox article talks about his COO, who would only put Utah Royals players in ads he thought were pretty enough. When Nicole Barnhart broke the NWSL shutout records, he told his staff not to publicize it too much because he didn't think she was that attractive.Last edited by jefe; 03-09-2020, 05:21.

Atlanta thanks their assorted gods for receiving a $18M offer for Pity Martinez from Saudi's al-Nasr and quickly accepts.
Gold Cup is going to have an actual draw for the 16 places; 4 qualifiers from lower ranked teams, the 11 higher seeds, and special guests Qatar, straight after their appearance in Copa America. Also, the brackets won't be structured to avoid crossover play til the final this time.
FCC brought in a winger from Velez Sarsfield, and Gonzalo Higuain is working on moving to Inter Miami, after they shipped DCU the standard $50K of allocation money to resolve their discovery claim on him. DC also brought in a journeyman Venezuelan striker for scoring depth, and lost Felipe to a torn ACL, as well as Edson Flores to facial fractures, the latter for only 6 weeks. Minnesota finally finished signing Emanuel Reynoso from Boca for about $5M
