Roman Metanaire extends his contract with Minnesota, as does Tesho Akindele with Orlando>

MLS is looking into letting private equity firms buy in.

    SKC had a positive test.

San Diego Loyal want to build their own stadium in the sports arena site in SD, next to a rehabbed arena and new concert venue being proposed as well. First a modular, then a permanent one. San Diego's president is the guy who did exactly for same for Sacramento, Warren Smith.

A bunch of teams have lined up second sleeve and shorts sponsors for the tournament.

USL Championship started up again, with fans at many of the games. RSLM, Tampa, Indy, Colorado Springs did, El Paso & Phoenix didn't.

DCU v Toronto postponed likely til tomorrow morning due to a positive test apiece requiring retesting.

Colorado Springs never had much attendance to speak of last season, so no problem w/ social distancing this season..

Dig the opening NM UTD goal (20 seconds in)

As of the last I checked, Colorado Springs was only going to let season ticket holders in this year.

I am begging each and every one of you to find the longest available cut of highlights to become available of that San Jose-Vancouver game, and inject them straight into your veins.

Columbus lost their injured defender to ankle surgery back in Ohio, out for months. They also hired an assistant GM, who will be the GM or their reserves, starting next year.

Corona has now officially screwed up expansion, due to forcing building or hiring delays. Austin still comes in next year, but Charlotte now enters in 2022 (*and are announcing name and colors on Wednesday), with St. Louis and Sacramento pushed to 2023.

Philly swapped next year's 1st round pick to Orlando for a homegrown player.

                  St. Louis announces name/colors/logo Thursday.

There is an extremely disturbing small thread on Twitter from a former NYCFC female intern talking about how David Villa made her life miserable when she was there.

Chicharito back to LA with a calf strain and out of the tournament.

NWSL LA expansion team announced tomorrow; Angel City FC, starting in 2022. Judging by all the people posting the same image on Instagram, it's going to be partly owned by the guy who founded reddit/married Serena Williams, Serena, Natalie Portman, and a crapload of ex-USWNT players. Plus Sacramento might be interested in a women's team again.

No fans at RBNY games this year, and presumably Sky Blue if they play again.

Hartford Athletic's GK is Steve Mandanda's brother.

The press announcement lists Serena and Alexis Ohanian's daughter as an investor. I'm fully on board as long as they don't have a relationship with LAFC, but honestly that seems to be the natural fit.

It’s great that they have all of these women and people of color investing, but I suspect their fanbase will out-smug even Portland.

I have no idea anymore what it's going to take to get Ben Olsen fired.

You really should check out Indy's winner tonight at Pittsburgh, and Hartford's over RBNY2 on the weekend.

NWSL cup final is tomorrow, Houston v Chicago. Meanwhile, Sam Mewis signed for Manchester City, and Rose Lavelle is likely to as well.

MLS has a tentative plan to restart the regular season, starting 8/22. Phase 1, to 9/13, is 6 games, with the Canadian teams only playing each other, while everyone else plays within the conference. Phase 2, 9/16 to 11/8, is 12 more games, conference play only, with Nashville and Dallas playing 3 extra games, all against each other. Where the Canadian teams would play is still up in the air, given the Blue Jays being forced to play in Buffalo already. 9 teams per conference to the playoffs, single elimination. The FIFA international window is 11/9-17.

CONCACAF released a master schedule to run through 2022, with updated WCQ/Nations league/Gold Cup details. For the WCQ's, the lowest ranked 30 teams are now split into 6 groups of 5 with designated group seeds, you play everyone in your group once, in October and November of this year. Group winners play each other home and away in March 2021, predesignated (winner of Canada's group plays winner of Haiti's, for example). Those 3 survivors advance to meet the top 5 teams, and the Hex becomes the Ocho-home and away for 14 games to determine 3.5 slots, June 2021 through March 2022.

ATL2's head coach is the interim Atlanta coach.

Paul Arriola signs a contract extension through at least 2023 with DCU.

The St Louis expansion team will not be named the Laser Snakes, the club has confirmed.

Half of Los Dos has the rona, so their game yesterday was called off, as was the Sacramento game.

Nashville at Dallas next Friday, for now.

Eric Wynalda resurfaces, coaching the NISA New Amsterdam FC team in the Bronx that isn't actually playing in the Bronx this "season".

CPL is going to have its season/tourney/something on Prince Edward Island.

They were also supposed to field only players from NYC "like Athletic Bilbao"

I for one am really looking forward to a qualifying round which will universally be tagged as "the Ocho".

Also, am optimistic Canada will walk walk into the 2022 finals with this schedule. Davies and David will tear this conference apart. Can't wait.

Dom Dwyer out several months with knee surgery.

Dome Torrent has resurfaced after leaving the Bronx, managing Flamengo.

Columbus might have to push back starting their reserve team to 2022.

About 30 New Mexicans decided to travel to OKC to watch New Mexico United, so, there's another outbreak coming.

Tampa Bay Rowdies second goal and the Pittsburgh v Philly II highlights are worth a look

Minnesota signed a Malian CB from relegated Amiens.

NYCFC get to play their foreseeable home games at Red Bull Arena.

Dynamo Zagreb is negotiating to by the Whitecaps' Korean defender.

Expansion team # 28(?) is now officially St. Louis City SC.

The winner of the CPL's Island Games season will play the winner of the just announced Canadian regular season MLS round robin for the Canadian CCL slot. Details TBD.

RBNY traded Alex Muyl to Nashville, and brought in a MF on loan from Salzburg.

When Nashville and Dallas knelt for the anthem last night (after both teams requested it not be played), they got booed by some people, and one yahoo chucked a beer bottle at the players and got ejected.

Dallas also bought a Colombian midfielder for a little under $2M.

Adama Diomande leave LAFC by mutual consent.

Blaise Matuidi to Miami is official, and they managed to make him a TAM level player, so their 3rd DP slot is still open.

DCU and Columbus are about to swap Emanuel Boateng for Axel Sjoberg.

And there's likely to be a USL1 expansion team in Portland ME called....Portland United.
