Anyone planning to watch this? I watched part of the Europa final between the same sides and was underwhelmed, and that was a game played in front of fans.

Has it been established that Spiurs are out of Europe if Arsenal win?

Yeah, I'm gonna dip in and out at least. Makes a change from Mans Utd & City and Liverpool on the telly.

Arsenal: Martinez, Holding, Luiz, Tierney, Bellerin, Xhaka, Ceballos, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
Subs: Macey, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Torreira, Smith, Willock, Nelson, Saka, Nketiah.

Chelsea: Caballero, James, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Rudiger, Alonso, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Giroud, Pulisic.
Subs: Kepa, Christensen, Tomori, Emerson, Kante, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi, Pedro, Abraham.

And already a feisty opening with a chance at each end...

          That didn't take long.

Is Pulisic the first footballer from the States to score in a Final?

              Lovely goal, that, waltzing through.

Arsenal deserve to lose with that font

Seems so for the FA Cup Final specifically, but John Harkes scored for Sheffield Wednesday, also against Arsenal, in the 1993 League Cup final while the first competitive goal by an American at Wembley was scored by Mike Masters for Colchester United in their 3-1 win over Witton Albion in the 1992 FA Trophy final.

Ok I don't understand how the 1 metre from the wall rule works.

Tim Howard became the second American to play in the FA Cup Final for Manchester United against Millwall in 2004. United ran out comfortable 3-0 winners and Howard was substituted by Roy Carroll for the final few minutes. However, this final was held at Cardiff and not Wembley.

Nevertheless, in 2009 Howard became one of the few players to feature in both a Cardiff and a Wembley FA Cup Final when he was in goal for Everton in their 1-2 loss to Chelsea (the match where Louis Saha scored in the first minute).

I should probably watch *this* game at some point...

Amazing shot by Pepe, but correctly disallowed.

                            And a penalty immediately follows.

It’s Desire 2, Tenacity 1 in the cup final of noun-only sentences from Danny Murphy so far. Time running out for Hunger and Passion to make it onto the scoresheet.

Ok, then. Clear goalscoring opportunity. No attempt whatsoever to play the ball. How does Azpilicueta stay on?

Aubameyang is clinical - easily the most memorable decider in recent years.

The penalty came from Tierney's second amazing, long, looping pass in the match. He's really good, isn't he?

Excellent match so far. Arsenal might actually be not bad again.

Obviously it is a generic metal font but there is one specific current band's logo it is reminiscent of but I cannot place them.

And it’s a shame Chelsea aren’t wearing their nice 1970 anniversary kit from the earlier rounds

It's quite a nice fraktur but it doesn't belong on a football shirt.

Does FIFA, UEFA etc. Require Latin typefaces in their competitions?

That's a shame for Pulisic. He looks a great player.

Didn’t John Harkes do it for Sheffield Wednesday? I recall that was a big deal at the time.

Pulisic has pulled his hamstring. Ouch

Double jeopardy rule. You don't get sent off if you concede a penalty any more.
