Tamworth or Hereford v Darlington
I think at least a third of the clubs in the draw are ex-FL or phoenix versions of such clubs.Last edited by Satchmo Distel; 09-10-2019, 11:40.

This season is the first time Tamworth have won an FA Cup game in five seasons.
Darlington are familiar opponents from previous seasons but I'd be surprised if any of the players or staff in either team were still with the club then.

Just confirming this as per discussion upthread :
Bury expulsion means bye to second round for one team

Obviously it's impossible to say what might have happened in the Harringey-Yeovil match under a different timeline, but such joint actions by teams were already in the water prior to events in Sofia.

Their opponents were fined £160. Meanwhile Padiham received a £165 fine.

I didn't know about that. Clearly idiotic application of (presumably) competition regulations.
But the fact that there are three examples (Haringey v Yeovil, Hartlepool v Dover and this game involving Padiham) in which both teams felt that leaving the pitch was a reasonable, uncontroversial response to a situation (even if they didn't actually do that at Hartlepool) seems to me to lay down a challenge both to racists to explain why their right to be vocally racist is more important than allowing a game to go ahead and to administrators to deal with things in a more appropriate manner.

The report on the Padiham incident is not clear whether Congleton also walked off. The report quotes the Padiham co-manager in thanking Congleton's players for being understanding of why Padiham had ceased playing in the game, but that isn't the same as Congleton being co-authors of the abandonment.
