There will be four Step 5 teams in the FA Cup 3rd round qualifying.

Ashton United of the North West Counties Premier, as they defeated Pontefract Collieries 1-0 yesterday. Hadley of the Essex Senior League after beating Ramsgate 1-0, and Tavistock AFC of the Western League Premier who beat Highworth Town 4-0.

They'll be joined by either Walthamstow (Essex Senior League) or Abbey Rangers (Combined Counties); the pair drew 1-1 at Wadham Lodge yesterday - replay on Tuesday.

Ahh, cheers Zeb. It's easy to see how I got my Ashton's muddled up. I'd mistakenly noted it down as Town.

Just the four, soon to be three, Step 5 sides left then.

I gather that Balham were knocked out on Saturday (3-5 at home to Royston). This is a shame.

We played three of them last season - Curzon and United in the league and Athletic in the cup. That's a lot of Ashton.

Gloucester City with the short 480 mile round trip to Whitby in what's supposed to be a regional draw.

No more Step 5 teams left in the competition after today's 3rd round qualifying ties. I watched Tavistock lose 4-1, and suffer two red cards, at Welling United. Abbey United were beaten 2-0 at home by Whyteleafe, whilst Hadley came seemingly closest to progressing, losing only 1-0 at Havant & Waterlooville.

Doesn't appear to have been many upsets in this round, but Peterborough Sports 1-0 win over Guiseley is certainly one.

How will Bury's expulsion affect the Round 1 draw?

Barnet's four-mile trip to Potter's Bar is more of a home game for them than their actual home games (which are six miles away from Barnet).

And the South Essex Clasico replay between Bowers and Canvey gets another layer of importance given whoever wins gets a home draw against Step 4 opposition.

Chesterfield vs Wrexham - a repeat of the 1996/97 quarter-final.

I don't see any evidence of the FA having decided as yet. However, my guess is that one side will get a bye.

That will be enough to see it broadcast on the BBC website, you'd imagine?

Fair enough. Wiki still had TBA against the number of teams in the draw.

Probably, though Halifax v Harrogate could also be considered.

I imagine if it had been Belper vs Notts County it would've been. But a big empty Meadow Lane would be a bit echoey on tv.

If anyone knows how to balls up a cup run, it's Gloucester City. The who's who of teams in lower divisions who have beat them is quite extensive now.

I make that four remaining Step 4 sides: Chichester City, Colne, Hayes & Yeading United, Whyteleafe... though I suspect I've missed one.

Hayes and Yeading are Step 3. They won promotion last season, so they entered at the Preliminary Round stage though.

Maldon and Tiptree are the only Step four team you missed I think?
