Pretty much The People's Front of Mid-Cheshire and The Mid-Cheshire People's Front each formed their own club.

What do you make of Bill Kenwright apparently offering a million quid to save Bury? It was refused by the league because of his role at Everton.

I'm not sure. An incredible gesture, but would it simply have allowed Bury to start the season but then face the same problems later on? Most probably.

35 day adjournment. Can someone please explain what Steve Dale's endgame is? I'm jiggered if I know.

He could just be a person with mental health issues. John Batchelor at York in 2002-03 was undergoing some sort of episode, and such is the bias towards treating people who present as welathy as somehow clever, smart or otherwise canny that we completely discount mental disintegration as a factor.

Powerful piece by Colin Murray in today's Metro about Bury's groundsman. https://www.metro.news/colin-murray-...-died/1779969/

                That piece is really sad.

So what happens tomorrow? It gets dragged out beyond Xmas?

It did seem slightly mean, but one of the clues in the Times crossword today is "Bury's season failing to start (5)"

                              "inter", presumably.

                                    Why is winter Bury's season?

                                      To inter means to bury.

To decode the cryptic clue, the use of Bury is a bit of a red herring to make the whole sentence look like a football related comment. The words bury and inter are synonyms, and winter is a season, which "failing to start" means drop the first letter, giving you the word 'inter' again. The fact that Bury FC failed to start the football season is a kind of meta-meaning for a smug crossword compiler.

I mean, it's still bollocks obviously, but at least I understand this bollocks.

Bizarrely, the original Bury F.C. still exists, and its winding-up petition was dismissed today after a debt was paid.
