Does anyone know where one could find the names of linesmen for England games before 1995?
A colleague in Russia is asking. Apparently this sort of information is often incomplete.

Any particular games? I suppose contemporary press reports, referees' own match reports (not sure where they would be filed, though, if at all), football programmes of the time etc. But you've probably already gone down these routes.

He's been through loads of sources of information. Is there, perhaps, a particularly good reference tome on England matches?

*Apparently, he's after all the Home Nations but let's start with England first.

http://www.englandfootballonline.com/ looks pretty comprehensive, an extremely quick look at one game from the 50s and one from 1910s yielded linesmen
