    Ivor Broadis

Died, age 96. Remarkable life and career, served in the Second World War, became player manager of Carlisle when he was 23, sold himself, won 14 caps for England including appearing in the World Cup.

Played for both Sunderland and Newcastle, amongst others, returned to Carlisle and after retiring had a long stint as Carlisle United reporter and columnist for the local press.

Im not usually one for RIPs, but, well, RIP.

Remarkable is the right word, the longest lived England international for what it's worth. An absolute legend of Carlisle (I know we've not got many, but still...), feels like a last link to a distant past has been severed today.
