Brand new USL1 team Lansing Ignite are probably going to fold after 1 season their owner is the local MILB owner, who seems to have thought he could open the gates and many thousands of people would fall in. They averaged about 2,700 a game (reported) and took a financial bath.

Lyon are talking about buying a NWSL team.

Sacramento MLS announced tomorrow. Louisville NWSL in 2021 announced Tuesday. Cincinnati's technical director Luke Sassano resigned, and their president has publicly said when their stadium opens in 2021 they'd like to have an NWSL team playing there too.

It's nice to be standing behind the goals into which your team is raining hell
Where were you standing for the reverse raining hell of the Canada game?

I was at work and turned it off at the 30 minute mark.

One of the things that came out in the course of Mike Petke's lawsuit vs RSL starting up is that he had bonuses in his contract for playing young players.

Wondo's officially back for one more year; Michael Boxall re-signed with Minnesota.

Hugo Perez's twitter is worth a look-part of the reason, he believes, that he was fired by the USSF was that he spoke Spanish to Latino players from the sideline.

Soctakes has a very interesting interview with the guy who was running the sporting side of the Lansing Ignite, regarding their folding and their owner, his old boss. Definitely worth a couple minutes.

Indoor starts a month from today.

NM United were annoying inconsistent the latter half of the season, but the squeaked into a play-in game w/ a 10th place finish. Tomorrow night they play at Sacto.

Impressively they topped the league in attendance...by almost 2,000 over the runner-up.

That’s a wide spread of numbers.

Yeah, disappointed to see OKC and Tulsa's numbers so low, however both teams were pretty poor this season.

                Comment

                  OKC already fired their manager.

It looks like the Washington Spirit are going to have a spastic home schedule next year: 4 games at the Soccerplex, 4 games at Loudoun United's stadium in Leesburg, 4 games at Audi Field.

Peter Wilt is leaving the USL team in Madison he started up to go work for the USL itself.

Chris Armas will return as RBNY manager.

Y'all know this is inevitably leading to a TFC/Seattle final, right?

                        Coaches coaches coaches...

Vlatko Andonovski from Seattle Reign to the USWNT

Tab Ramos from the USMNT U-20's to Houston Dynamo

Wilmer Cabrera from Montreal Impact back to unemployment.

RSL is going to interview Jason Kreis to be coach/GM.

(probably) exit Dome Torrent from NYCFC, (probably) enter Giovanni van Bronkhorst

Got up extra early to catch the last half hour of the LA derby this morning, the first MLS game I've watched for a year or two. When did the league ban defending?

That charming gentleman Zlatan must be such a pleasure to play alongside - the usual arm gestures or hands on hips at every team-mate's mistake, letting everyone know what a favour he's doing you all by condescending to show up. Makes a bad pass - throws his arms up in the air at team-mate's failure to telegraph it. Grabs his balls at a heckling Galaxy fan as he's leaving the field, then tells media they'd better hope he stays for another season or everyone will forget their crappy league.

Chris Pontius retires; Lucho Acosta is so gone from DCU it's not funny. Pablo Maurer wrote 2 great articles about his and Rooney's exits on the Athletic if you subscribe.

Fresno FC is almost certainly gone; folding or moving to play at Cal State-Monterey Bay is still up in the air OH PLEASE GOD THIS. The owner couldn't get the city to pay up for a stadium or even land/infastructure for one. He also owns the old Fresno Fuego name, which he says he'd be willing to give away to fans if they want to start a phoenix club.

Loons re-sign ike Opara; Portland Sebastian Blanco to a multiyear DP contract.

Dallas cans Cristian Colman, and 2 others; somehow exercises the option on Dom Badji.

Atlanta is debating NWSL for 2021.

Charleston Battery are being sold; Hartford Athletic fired their coach and their owner seems to be a power crazed schmuck per a Soctakes article-paid people nothing, wouldn't let them take 2nd jobs to make ends meet, wouldn't pay for MRI's or rehab.

Also, the two teeny tiny islands off Newfoundland that France still owns for the fishing rights are going to build a turf field and join CONCACAF.

They are also looking to build a covered pitch, which makes sense given the weather

LAFC fans certainly building a reputation for behaving like assholes when their team chokes in the playoffs. Sounders players pelted with beers and trash after the final whistle as they went over to celebrate in front of the away fans.

I'm so glad LAFC and NYCFC are out. It's a positive of our playoff system.

Winning away is glorious. 50 fans celebrating a win in a stadium of 50k is glorious. The 5.30 coffee line up full of hung-over TFC fans at Hartsfield-Jackson airport is less glorious but I'll still take it.

It was a good night. Not the actual match, TFC were dreadful for most of it - holy shit that field is wide and it made every transition a nightmare - but you know. Winning

                                            1) Really does not sound like Jozy will be back for the final. Not sure how we are going to pull this off without him
                                            2) Among the many, many reasons I hate Atlanta is that it turns out they consider the Campeones Cup to be actual silverware.
                                            3) Seattle is a long way to go for a game, but apparently TFC fans are going to fill two sections on Sunday.

It just wasn't meant to be.

MLS really needs to rethink their schedule. Playing a final against the NFL is no way to get press.

Playing at noon sucks too. Completely throws off the rhythm of the game.

Plus the Sounders fans being marched into the stadium by fucking Macklemore is a disgrace. As my son said yesterday as we cruised around town, the Sounders and their fans are probably the single worst thing about Seattle (which is otherwise quite a nice city).

I’d have thought the lack of affordable housing, the influx of tech bros, and the rain are worse, but those things might be related.
