Well, it was fun for about 9 minutes...

NM United banged in the first goal in the 7th minute and 17 minutes later it's Minn. Utd 4, NM 1.

Mercifully they kept them to single digits. Final score 6-1. MEN v. boys.

Still wild to think that a local USL team can get loads of people excited to watch on a big screen in downtown civic plaza in 90+ degree heat.

I am at a local brewpub - at least 150 or so staying on to the bitter end. Adrian Heath looked sharp in his blue jacket.

Jill Ellis is gone after the victory tour, and Hope Solo has declared war on her teammates again.

Mike Petke suspended for a few games, ordered to do all sort of sensitivity training, and fined by the league, and banned by his club for 2 weeks of no contact after chasing the refs off the field in their Leagues Cup game screaming motherfucking puto repeatedly in their faces.

TFC loan in a winger from Ligue 2; San Jose import another Argentine striker, DCU and Zoltan Steiber agree to cancel his contract, and the Atlanta locker room seems to be steadily getting more and more fed up with Frank de Boer.

COMMERCE CITY & TRI COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT - PLAGUE CONFRIMED IN PRAIRIE DOGS AT NUMEROUS COMMERCE CITY SITES

Per guidance of Tri-County Health Department, Colorado Rapids August 3 game to continue as scheduled, post-game fireworks have been cancelled, and parking surrounding stadium restricted.

Following recommendations from the Tri-County Health Department and the City of Commerce City, the Colorado Rapids game with Montreal Impact on Saturday, August 3 at 7PM will go ahead as scheduled. However, it has been recommended that the post-game fireworks display be cancelled due to the confirmed presence of plague-infested fleas affecting prairie dog colonies in the surrounding areas.

Additionally, in accordance with the Tri-County Health Department’s recommendation for the safety of all attendees, parking lots at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park will be restricted to asphalt lots until further notice.

The health department feels that these precautions will greatly minimize the risk of exposure to patrons, players, and employees and help ensure a safe experience.

Go to Disney for a few days and Dave Kasper gets drunk and crazy.

With Russell Canouse out with a collapsed lung and Chris Durkin savagely rolling an ankle in that Philly embarrassment, Dave Kasper's response is to send MLSbucks to Vancouver for Felipe, trade MLSbucks of varying types and an international slot with Portland, give the Galazy $250K of MLSbucks for Ema Boateng, and spend $2.5M to bring back Ola Kamara from China. Oh yeah, and Wayne's gone. And Kasper is talking to Ozil and Balotelli's people for next year.

Columbus are selling Gaston Sauro to Toluca.

                Bojan Krkic to Montreal.

Sky Blue got their 8/18 game against Seattle reign moved to Red Bull Arena.

DCU talked to Daniel Sturridge but he wanted too much money and wasn't fit.

Mike Petke indeed got fired by RSL for his epic rant against the refs.

Edinson Cavani to Beckham FC next year, supposedly.

Current likeliest NWSL expansion team next year is USL Louisville City.

Does that number include Miami and Nashville? Does that mean Sacramento is shit out of luck?

Yeah, that includes Miami, Nashville, Austin and St. Louis. Sacramento will probably be #29. #30 is still a crapshoot.

LAFC can clinch a playoff spot this weekend.

The coming San Diego USL expansion team that Landon is a part of will also be coached by him.

Are people starting to get sick of zlatan shitting on the league all the time? Or does it just make them love him more? I mean no-one is expecting him to go full robbie Keane, but you know, have some fucking respect.

One of the few unambiguously positive things you can say about Robbie Keane is that he took the whole America thing very seriously. I mean he had his own reasons for that, but still. I remember reading that Grant Wahl book about beckham and thinking that if I were a galaxy fan, I would not be impressed.

Gerrard and Drogba were just as bad. I'm not sure how engaged Henry was either.

Henry very much enjoyed living in New York.

Not as much with playing in New Jersey, though he was more engaged than Matthaus.

As time passes, MLS' record with "massive" European signings isn't that different than the NASL's.

Usually not when he was standing in the middle though surely? Zlatan was usually about to step off the bridge when he casually tossed his lit cigarette over his shoulder.

did any of those players go to milan and PSG and miss chunks of the MLS season? (Actually I remember robbie keane playing a few games for villa. Did he miss any MLS games in that time?)
