Confirmed by Man City. Good to see Shinawatra upholding a City tradition.

And Blackburn have given them permission to talk to Mark Hughes about the vacant position.

So will Hughes go to Man City, Sven to Chelsea and Avram Grant to Blackburn?

Hughes would be insane to touch Man City. Insane I tells ya.

I'm amazed Blackburn are letting him talk to them.

But imagine he becomes a City hero only to be lured across the Irwell in a couple of years.

So City have agreed terms with Blackburn, and now proceed to speak to Hughes.

Thanksin - bringing proper honest negotiating skills to football. What a gent.

That thread title invariably gives me a Hall &b Oates earworm.

I got a Cliff Richard earworm (which believe me, is nasty for this time in the morning)

I think Hughes will sort City out. They have possibilities of being a very good side as opposed to just the attacking outfit they were last first half of the season. Mark Hughes seems to be a strong leader, and although some of the fandancers will leave when he starts to get tough, the ones who stay will play better. For longer. Or not (It is Man City after all)

I was at the City Of Manchester Stadium on Monday night and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They went out of their way to escort me through verboten corridors to get me to where I wanted to be. Lovely people.

Same experience at Maine Road about a decade ago, when I lost my bag and they let me in the next day so I could wander around till I found it.

Just wanted to say that. Carry on.

Lucky you, the majority of them couldnt even speak English at the boxing the other night let alone find my seats. Different staff though, I suppose.

Does this mean Tony Parkes is in charge at Blackburn again?

Allardyce is the press favourite, but the fans want Shearer apparently. Which is groundhog day for Big Sam I would expect.

Nope, he's assistant manager at Blackpool now, I think, after being shown the door by Hughes some months ago.
