Neil Oliver presents Rise Of The Clans. This should be hilarious.

Season 2 of Mrs. Maisel is up, so that’s what I’m doing.

I am 17 minutes in, and it's 45 minutes later. I keep having to pause to catch up with the jokes. He's too good for me, is Stew. And isn't Slobodan Milosevic looking rough these days?

Didn't see anything so far for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Took us a few days to finish all six vignettes, but all well done and highly recommended. My favorite was the wagon train work.

Me too. I'm in the Catskills with them - it looks just like scene from a Wes Anderson film.

I think I mentioned it several pages back, but I'm surprised it hasn't got more traction. It's one of their more enjoyable recent films. I liked Tom Waits's gold-miner.

Currently watching Season 1 of Occupied - plot is absolute hokum (EU gives Russia permission to invade Norway!), but the political intrigue is undoubtedly entertaining.

Well, I'm well into S3 of Sopranos. It's still good. But it's not exciting me at the moment.

Worth sticking with. The second season has a kick in its tail.

An unexpected movie night, so we ended up watching Jack Reacher: Never Go Back because the Mrs liked the first one and I love the books.

                        It's alright. Does the job.

We did five of the six last night. It's marvelous. I could watch a hundred of those.

                          "First time?" Brilliant.

It's only on Amazon Prime, correct?

Anyway, Narcos: Mexico for sure. Just finished it. And still banging the drum for Ray Donovan.

Seems there's a thirty-day free trial, so maybe that's the plan.

I'm going through a phase when I find I don't really want to watch anything - or mostly don't want to watch anything - but I'm having a lot of back problems and the only chair I find comfortable is the one I have in front of the TV, so I find myself sitting there a lot hoping to find something. So I've been rewatching a lot of easy-to-digest stuff like the recent Star Wars films and the Expanse. I rewatched all of The Magicians. Meanwhile, I'm distracted by my phone. It's not a good habit.

I need to do more reading.

I'm also listening through all of the unabridged readings of all the Tolkien books. I also recently rewatched the extended versions of all the films. They do drag a bit don't they? I'm starting to respect Peter Jackson's a lot more and understand why he cut so much out, angering all the nerds. If he'd made the movies they - and Christopher Tolkien - wanted, they'd each be seven hours long and be really dull. A lot of people thought the ones he made were dull anyway (though I don't see how one comes to that opinion). The Hobbit didn't need to be three films, but it would have lost a lot if they'd just made it a tight single film. The third movie - the five armies one - is the worst, but it deserves more time than Tolkien actually gave it. It's a battle of five fukin' armies and it's just about a chapter in the book.

I've also decided to listen through all of Led Zeppelin's albums in order. Just to see what happens.

No, I haven't taken up pot, but I guess it sounds like I have.

I finally saw the Queen flick at the cinema. It's fun enough watching the greatest hits stuff, although it's clearly not a great film. What impressed me most what how well they recreated Old Wembley.

Started The Good Place on Netflix last night. Watched four in a row. Lots to enjoy there.

Je suis on series 6 of Engrenages, or “Spiral”, as you English say. Loving it, and totally adore Josephine, whom I loathed in series 1.

Also watched the first episode of Mrs Wilson last night and that has me hooked.

We need a locked down spoilers thread for The Good Place that you only go on once you've finished the first season.

Started waching that Mrs Maisel on Amazon after seeing it bigged up here and elsewhere. A bit glossy and stuffed full of stereotypes, but funny nonetheless. I’m assuming Joan Rivers is the template comedienne?

Also watching the Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out reboot on the BBC. Still gloriously silly - had us laughing out loud at times.

Began watching Dogs of Berlin on Netflix the other night. First hour in I thought it was going to be brilliant. Star German international footballer found dead in a scuzzy area of the city. Married homicide cop with a secret mistress and a serious gambling addiction takes over the case. He's straight, but doesn't want the death announced until he can place a massive bet on the upcoming Germany v Turkey WC qualifier. Unfortunately the excellent premise is getting suffocated by more over-plotting than you'd see in ten seasons-worth of Eastenders. There's nasty social services people, Turkish gangs, neo-Nazis, envious cops, and on and on. Every character has to get beaten up at least once and there's dog-shit everywhere. (It's a kinda metaphor.) I'll stick with it, mainly because it might get seriously ludicrous.

I watched an episode of George RR Martin's Nightflyers today. I wanted to like it. I wanted it to be another The Expanse. Sadly, it is not.
