Oh and I watched the first episode of Humans but while it was a good idea, the script, acting and directing were utterly unbearable. It actually hurt to watch.

It gets called Plangers! in our house. Daughter has never shown any interest in Sarah & Duck, sadly.

THIS IS SOME SHIT WHAT I IS BANG INTO:

            1. Bojack Horseman: There's probably something to worry about that the TV character I can't most identify with is a washed-up alcoholic horse, but FUCK YOU GUYS. Course, I've never had the success of Bojack, so the reason for my dead-insideness remains to be determined. But this is about the show, not me. It's funny, it's bleak, it's occasionally tender, it's surreal, it's a cartoon. It's the best thing I've seen in ages.

Lie To Me: Easily usurping CSI as my go to good shit telly programme. As it goes on Tim Roth plays Dr Lightman more and more like Jack Sparrow, even using the "Dr... Lightman" as Depp used "Captain... Jack Sparrow". This doesn't make it any more or less ridiculous, as there's no real depth to the show anyway. I'm on the last series having watched about 6 of the fuckers a day. I won't be sad when it finishes, but it will leave a hole in my life I'll never truly fill. Until the nest one comes along.

              Why are you still up?

Any road up, me and t'Mrs have been watching Pappano's Classical Voices on BBC4, and it's been fascinating. I've never been into opera (unless you count having a bash at Figaro in the shower*), but it's been a suprisingly accessible, fun watch. It's on iPlayer and highly recommended.

              *NOT a euphemism.**

              **Possibly a lie

Missed the start of Series 4 on Dave on Monday only to discover that, while we have the channel and its +1, our TV package doesn't allow us to access its iplayer type service. Boo.

Watching a recorded episode of Yes, Prime Minister last night still made me wonder about why they screened that letdown of a revival some years ago. Yes, it was the televised presentation of the stage hit, but it was so embarrassingly loud and simplistic that it took the piss when compared to the subtle intelligence of the original. Still don't know why they did it.

BoJack Horseman has really grown on me now that I've watched most of season one.

Speaking of Netflix shows, I watched Wet Hot American Summer (the film) for the first time the other day, and started watching the TV show. Great stuff. Very, very silly.

I should also add that Comedy Central's (US) line-up at the moment is superb. In addition to their ever-presents, you've got The Meltdown (great stand-up), Another Period (Downton Abbey meets Real Housewives, with Natasha Leggero, Rikki Lindholme, Michael Ian Black and more), and Review (Andy Daly doing what Andy Daly does best). You can watch them all on Plex if you're in the UK or don't have cable.

Yeah, UK Comedy Central seems pretty crappy and usually only carries the highest profile shows from the US. I have no idea why they don't show more of the US stuff. It's free content.

But, like I say, just use the Comedy Central channel on Plex and you're golden.

My 8-year-old loves it, but seriously - is 'Flockstars' the worst television programme ever? Celebrities - at least I think they are celebrities - herding sheep against the clock. It's hardly worth making the obvious Partridge reference.

Watched The Skeleton Twins yesterday, a comedy that couldn't have underlined the feeling that SUMMER IS NOW OVER more definitely. I say comedy; it is one in every respect, but it pulls away from that about as hard as you can without it being a pain in the arse.

The Suicide Twins would have been nearer the mark, and both sides of the titular pair are horrible throughout, though not in ways you might expect for two Saturday Night Live alumni. And it's all the better for that, gives it a strong voice.

That pair is Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, the second of who I hadn't heard of. Been enjoying his Stefon bits from SNL today, along with lots of Wiig's stuff. She's one of the greats already.

I withstood 15 minutes of the Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse retrospective. I strongly disagree with your statement.

Yes, it's the same Peter Kay retro comedy that has been done to death.

Yes, it's more of the same.

Yes, it's a mix of very good and very obvious (and one glaringly bad dream sequence misstep that verges on blacking up as comedy).

But apparently I'm the target demographic for slow-paced, inconclusive, very slightly soppy comedy with a soundtrack of 80s and 90s hits from my schooldays. There's very good chemistry between the leads and while I can't see how the show can go anywhere else now (I don't think there'll be more) I really enjoyed it.

However, if Murphy tells you he needs 10 episodes, give him 8. If he says 12, give him 10. If he says 8, it's 6. Why will they not learn this?

Also, Riverdale is gloriously terrible and we're quite enjoying it. And The Americans is heading toward its conclusion and is as great as ever. And Billions continues to impress. We're holding off on Saul till those are done.
