Sorry. My bad it's on Showtime.

Oh, that makes sense. I'll see it eventually then.

Just whizzed through Back To Life (BBC iplayer). 6 x 30 min bittersweet comedy episodes in the Fleabag vein, albeit about a 30-something woman returning to her home town and parents after release from a long prison spell. Really enjoyed it, and Geraldine James as the mum is superb.

I really enjoyed that too, I may have commented on here at the time it was first broadcast. Daisy Haggard hasn't ever been someone I've warmed to before but her writing and acting on it (and the rest of the cast's performances too) were really impressive and the show has stuck with me since. I liked it a lot more than 'After Life' the Ricky Gervais vehicle that aired around the same time with an attempt at a similar tone.

And The Deuce is back for it's third season. It's NYC in '85, video is about to change the porn business, and HIV has arrived in force.

I gave up on that after half an episode but may try again.

                We absolutely love it.

I couldn’t deal with the abject filth of it all.

'After Life', written by and starring Ricky Gervais. You'll either love it or hate it. My life loved it whilst my jaw just dropped at how ill-judged it was. We felt the same about 'Derek'.

                    Just starting Bosch series 3.

As I write, I'm watching "Das Boot" on proper television. I watched it the first time about 25 years ago. What a load of crap.

Watching Happy-ish, a series that only lasted a season on Showtime. Steve Cogan, Katherine Hahn, Bradley Whitford. Takes a while to get going, but I really like it.

Cogan plays an ad man who commutes from Woodstock to the city. I looked it up and that’s about a two or two-and-a-half hour commute each way. That’s insane.

Why are you watching it again if you think it's a load of crap?

Have we discussed 'Mortimer & Whitehouse Go Fishing' on here before?

The first series was great fun but the recent second one is even better and has been a fantastic watch so far.

It's like a non-fiction version of 'The Trip' or 'Detectorists', Paul & Bob are funny, engaging characters and wonderful company but there's quite a poignancy too, I've teared up at the ending of two of the three I've seen so far.

I thought it was great first time round. Probably because I'd been told to find it great.

Watching Tarantino be interviewed is pretty difficult, since he's too obnoxious for me. But this text interview is really interesting. If you liked Once Upon a Time then I think you will be interested in this one:

Perfect TV for these turbulent times.

The Deuce is back on HBO in the US. It's up to 1984 so here comes crack and AIDS. I think this is supposed to be the last season. Simon had a set plan. The re-worked Elvis Costello intro song ("This Year's Girl") is out and Blondie's "Dreaming" is in.

I loved the Mortimer/Whitehouse fishing thing too, not least because they release the fish. It’s actually nothing to do with fishing. It’s about friendship, tranquility and healing.

I watched about six of those. Not sure it needs the semi-animation stuff.

I fear that Ken Burns' Country documentary is going to spend so much time setting up internal immigration in the US, changing historical racial dynamics in the south, and other foundational historical changes that the 1960s and 1970s honky tonk stuff is just going to get no attention. Either way, I've mostly enjoyed the first two episodes. I have no idea if this is or will be available outside the US, although folks familiar with that infamous Swedish pirate ship who are interested in country music might know how to find the series.

The most interesting thread for me has been Burns' returning to the two sides of the country music coin: church going music and rambling/honky tonkin' music from the very beginning.

Killing Eve series 1. Refreshing and funny and cool. Whassername playing Eve is brilliant. Recommended.

                                                Sandra Oh.

                                                S1 a lot better than S2.

I gave up on that part way through S1. Just violent and I didn't care. Also, I heard S2 is worse so I didn't see the point in staying with it. And I don't have Hulu anymore.
