As someone remarked on Twitter, amazing that she was in both Hancock and Friends - two shows several generations apart that both defined their eras and specifically how comedy depicted those eras.
With Frankie Howerd, she recorded a version of the song Je T'aime, but even their spoof, complete with ironic heavy breathing, was considered too risque for the time and was famously banned by the BBC.
Oh dear. Like GO my earliest memory of her is as Ethel ("Eth") Glum. A proper top comedy actor, immaculate delivery, brilliant timing. Ta ta love, and thanks.
Is there anyone left who appeared alongside Tony Hancock?
The impressionist Peter Goodwright, probably best remembered for "Who do you do?" in the 70s, appeared in some radio episodes of Hancock's Half Hour and is still with us.
