Old films that are tremendous

I came across this while looking up some actors from a film on Talking Pictures (some of them have incredible backstories). They are films that are all in the public domain beginning in 1896 sorted by decades mainly and include many pre-code films. There are a lot of Buster Keaton (The General!) and Fatty Arbuckle which are fascinating. Also Chaplin (including the Tramp). I'm still trawling through...

The last couple of years there's been a silent film evening at a Gateshead community centre- the 1st year they tried fancy dress, last year it was kid-friendly films and pizza but some real gems screened.
