Originally posted by Simon G View PostI started listening to Because WCW last week and I'm absolutely hooked on it. It's quite basic, a couple of British wrestling journos/workers take a WCW ppv and go into detail on it, and looking into how WCW ended up falling apart.
In my youth I loved wrestling, and I love the story of WCW, as bad as it is. I'm 15 podcasts in now, and I've learnt a lot that I didn't already know.
If you don't like wrestling, I'd avoid it. If you do like wrestling though, especially at the time of the Monday Night Wars, I can't recommend it enough.
One I can recommend wholeheartedly, if you haven't come across it yet, is The Attitude Era Podcast – one Irishman and two Englishmen dissecting the entirety of said era, one PPV at a time, plus assorted spinoffs. Very, very funny. If you've never heard about the truly inexplicable 'Wrestlemania Rage Party' that the then-WWF put on ahead of WM XV (I hadn't, somehow), listening to that episode alone makes the metaphorical entrance fee worthwhile.
Aforesaid Irishman Kefin Mahon has also got an excellent second podcast called How2Wrestling, in which he and his girlfriend (who was a pro-wrestling neophyte when they got together) have spent the last 5 years producing one episode per month of a sort of Dummies' Guide to various performers or things in the industry – from How2Hogan to How2OrangeCassidy, How2RoyalRumble (and, indeed, How2Ready2Rumble) to How2Referees.

I'm up to episode 25 now, and two Nitro watchalongs in, I've had Nitro on my ipad whilst working and listening - and they say men can't multi-task, it's getting better and better.
I'll give some of your recommendations a look - although I have about a million podcasts on my phone now and I'm struggling to keep up (Socially Distant Sports Bar, TwoHundredPercent and Chart Music being immediate listens as soon as they're downloaded).

I hope no-one minds if I drop this link here - I currently have two pots on the boil, a history of non-league football, which is coming to its end (the penultimate one goes live this morning) and a daily TV one in which we feast on the carcass of old TV shows.

George Gibney is under investigation again on some new allegations of abuse. Seems a new investigation has been underway for a while but, but it has just come to light now after even more people approached the Gardai after hearing the Where is George Gibney? podcast. There's a new episode of the pod coming out this Thursday to catch up with developments.

Just catching up on the 200% podcast and have listened to the That's Life episode. If it's the only one you listen to, it's worth it purely for the Not the 9 o'clock News skit at the end.

The Athletic bought Ian Macintosh’s company, so he’s now doing podcasts for them. There’s one on Football Manager which is mildly interesting even if basically an extended advert for the game.
Tratorello, you might like War Stories (warstoriescast.com). Infrequent podcasts on topics like the history of logistics, armour, etc.

John Sweeney's Ghislaine Maxwell investigation, Hunting Ghislaine, is very throrough and grimly fascinating.
Prince Andrew does not come out of it well at all. Sweeney's also dismissive of the conspiracy theories around Epstein's suicide.

The Lincoln Project has a podcast now, perhaps to repair PR damage caused by the Weaver scandal*. Rick Wilson is now on that rather than The New Abnormal, as is Stuart Stephens.

We just finished 'Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia' which I thought was excellent if a tad harrowing. https://www.tntdrama.com/i-am-the-ni...n=podcast-page
