Don LaFontaine, voice of Hollywood movie trailers has died.
Trailers will never be the same. RIP

I was trying to think of some clever pun on "In a world where...one man dares to..." but nothing comes to mind. It's just sad. He was only 68.
The movie business is going to go into a slump now.

Bloody hell, I Googled the new story and saw his picture -- I'd always just assumed that guy was black. Anything but.

Crikey, this means that trailer-makers might now have to put some thought into an original concept (plus, R.I.P. and all that).
What was his last trailer?

Sadly, this leaves the novices of the trade whose put-on 'dangerous' deep voices just sound wimpy and irritating.

What did he die of? He must surely have been on about sixty a day.

I've only read that he died from "complications in the treatment of an ongoing illness".

Yeah, I read that "ongoing illness" thing too. I'm only glad it wasn't complications in the treatment of an illness
from which he'd recovered
; what a bummer
that
would have been.

Ian64 is right on, he had a lot of immitators but they all sound a bit phony. He made it sound almost natural.
