    Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Watched this yesterday having seen the trailer on Friday morning, and laughing myself silly at it.
Story of a 12 year old kid sent from the city to live in rural New Zealand with new foster parents, one of whom is really enthusiastic and loving, whilst her husband, played by Sam Neill, is a canterkerous old fart.
The kid ends up lost in the NZ bush, eventually joined by Sam Neill's character and a nationwide manhunt ensues.
I found it terribly funny, but also poignant and really gets to care for the characters. Julian Dennison plays the kid, and is superb as the gangster infatuated Ricky.

    Hunt for the Wilderpeople

I was going to start a thread on this!

I saw it last night with my kiwi housemate. It was absolutely majestical. Really well balanced between the comedy and the way the characters are developed and portrayed.

I spent most of last night remembering little bits and chuckling.

Mark Kermode's film of the week - hope it's showing at our flea-pit.
