That doesn't surprise me. I might have this wrong but weren't the Wayans Brothers involved in several, if not all, of those artistic travesties?

Yes, they did have a hand in them, but, more surprising is that the Weinstein brothers, no less, also had a role in producing them (the later ones, anyhow). I suppose you've got to drum up some cash to finance those Oscar-bait arthouse juggernauts somehow.
