A bit of a local celebrity in Lancashire. My mate Ness knew him very well.

Apparently in the original, early filming of Star Wars, George Lucas envisaged the robots all talking like pirates (as they were the "crew" onboard the ships), and R2D2 was going to be quite the rude and aggressive one, a bit like Bob Hoskins as Smee in Treasure Island. What a different film that would have been...
