It's nothing special, I would imagine you'd get a pretty decent grasp of it from the trailer. As a 'conflict of interests' police story it had its moments, but it was no 'Serpico' or 'Prince Of The City' (although it pursued a different angle, admittedly).
Johnny Depp was okay, but I really liked the performance of Joel Edgerton as the ambitious cop making some bad decisions. Benedict Cumberbatch was good, too, I'm no expert on accents but both he and Edgerton (an Australian) sounded pretty convinvpcing as Bostonians
