    Cambodia's Lost Rock and Roll

After the embarrassing box office numbers for United Passions it pleased me to count 36 patrons paying $8 to see the documentary Don't Think I've Forgotten: Cambodia's Lost Rock and Roll Thursday night.

I had a bit of knowledge of Cambodian popular music as my brother made me a cassette of the Cambodia Rocks CD back in the late 90s. I was impressed back then with the tight musicianship. This film covers the music scene from independence up through the Khmer Rouge with loads of interviews and as much as footage as could possibly be squeezed out.

Director John Pirozzi took 10 years to put it all together and I highly recommend seeing it.
