In that case, they would have been excepting it.

BTW: "Your mission — should you choose to except it..." Did they ever say "Nah, don't fancy that one?"
I always imagine Woody Allen replying, "Are you crazy?"

Al in Police Squad was another faceless character, although we did see him knee to chest.

          Creater sort-of cameo:
Clive from Men Behaving Badly - played by Simon Nye himself, only seen from the neck down.

"The Red Green Show" had Moose Thompson, Stinky Peterson and Red's wife, none who were ever seen.

Don't know if this qualifies and has been mentioned.

But this guy in the dreadful show

which they made a point of not showing his face in full

I'm not entirely sure about Wilson counting - he's in what I have decided to call "The Andy McNab Situation" i.e. their face is always partially obscured but you've seen all the bits and would know exactly what they looked like in plain sight.

                    I'd recognise him anywhere.

The bosses, Veronica and Tyson, are from 'Outnumbered', by the way.

They are in that category where you never see or hear anything of them, but their implied actions and demands have a fairly strong influence on the plot.

Can't answer any of kev's but here's one of my own, from a favourite sitcom of mine:

Miss Mountshaft and Mrs Dooms-Patterson (leading lights of the local pony club and musical society).
                        'The Good Life'

Although Miss Mountshaft sounds more as if she should be a character from 'Are You Being Served'.
