Death of Ned Flanders, Mr Burns, Principal Skinner

Waylon Smithers, the newsreader, Reverend Lovejoy, God, et cetera?

Harry Shearer has left The Simpsons.

Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea.

Why won't they just let the poor show die?

(Well, money, obviously. But it's such a shame).

Absolutely. Shearer does much more outside of the show than the other main actors (he's done a weekly public radio show on the news, with songs and comedic bits about the week's news of varying quality, for 30 years), and likely has more money than Croesus.

There are still moments of brilliance in the show, but I don't think the world needs any new Simpsons episodes.

Never a Simpsons fan, but I'm a fan of doing something you love.

If they still love making episodes, then keep making them. Hell, if Shearer had a son, let him do it like Led Zeppelin took Bonham's son and put him on the drums.

I hope so - just as long as he can get out of the pod this time.

I'm impressed at how extraordinarily unflattering a garb that security guard's uniform is.

Surely this is the end of the simpsons.

                      Don't be so sure:

That clip's from 1999 by the way - and if you really need to know, that's Karl Wiedergott temporarily voicing Flanders.

                        I still miss Phil Hartman.

Karl Widergott is a friend of a friend.

Admittedly the circumstances were somewhat different though - a pay dispute isn't exactly the same as being shot dead.
