    inquiring minds want to know.

Maybe none. They have 3D printers for parts, I suspect.

In a high tech universe you'd expect so, but a notable aspect of Star Wars is the poverty and the groups of people scavenging to survive.

The Rebels/resistance have a fleet and some decent gear. Not a lot, but some. They have all of those X-Wings and Y-Wings, etc and friends in the underworld. They certainly seem to care more about the well-being of droids than the empire.*

But they are the scrappy underdogs so have to rely on their clever hot rod mechanics/hackers.

The Millennium Falcon is kinda junkie, but Solo and Chewy have made a lot of useful mods over the years. And Rey is a born gearhead and pilot. That seems to be among the gifts Jedi sometimes have. Anakin and Luke were natural pilots and pretty good at fixing stuff too.

The “brilliant mechanic/engineer” who improvises solutions to acute problems iss a bit of a standard sci-fi trope. Battlestar had Galen Tyrol, Star Trek had Scotty and Jordie, The Expanse has Naomi and Amos, Firefly had Kaylee.

*Of course, Solo has the whole droid uprising led by L3-37, who then becomes one with the Millennium Falcon. So it seems that droids can become immortal if their consciousnesses are downloaded properly.
