    Dora Bryan RIP

Another ubiquitous and fondly remembered figure from my childhood departs. Often reminded me of my Mum, same accent same Lancashire sassiness.

Sad news. She was a bit of a local celeb here in Brighton, there's a plaque up the road on her old house, and a bus named after her.

Her longevity surprised me. I'd see a recent sitcom or show on telly and raise an eyebrow when she turned up. I've a certain respect for old troupers who just keep on going until time stops them. This respect does not extend to annoying buggers like Bruce Forsyth.

      RIP Mrs. Bryan.
