    Films about growing up in...

I've just watched 'Son Of Rambow' and it was pretty good. Made me chuckle quite a lot anyway. I think it was a fairly decent representation of what growing up in Britain is/was actually like (although the family situations were pretty extreme).

What other films are there - that can be recommended - that deal affectionately with growing up in particular countries?

We Are The Best from Sweden. Released a few weeks ago and is effing superb. Three 13 year old girls from a punk band in early 80's Stockholm. It has a natural feel to it and captures that period in a teenagers life expertly.

      "Let The Right One In".

I cant speak highly enough of this film.

And may I just mention, that the weird looking kid in "Son of Rambow", is wonderful? And will, if not already, be a huge star. His name is Will something. He was in "We are the Millers" (average film, but he is shockingly funny, by doing absolutely nothing, other than playing a naive kid. Nailed the accent too, which is rare for a young Brit.)

      *Will Poulter.
