Mrs Doyle's first name is never revealed. However, in the official script book, her first name is given as "Joan".

                Mr Heckles - Friends
                Quagmire - Family Guy

Oddly, in the Big Bang Theory, Penny's surname is never revealed (until she becomes Hofsteter (sic?) when she marries Leonard).

                  Mr Magoo.

                  Mr. Benn.

                  Mr. Bean.

Cartman is usually called Cartman, not Eric.

Including when he presents his business card and it just says 'Newman'.

Isn't it "canon" that Vulcans such as Spock have only one name?

"The novels give his full name as S'chn T'gai Spock. As to how it's pronounced, your guess is as good as mine."

Fry (Futurama) is another character whose first name is very rarely used.

At my Christian Brothers secondary school in Crosby it often felt as if we all had invisible first names.

We need PT to adjudicate, but I don't believe the novels are considered "canon".

Also, (Turanga) Leela and (John) Zoidberg. I think their first names are even less used than Fry's.

Lovejoy (not the Soccer AM one). I don't know if the 'loveable rogue' was ever called by his first name in the source books, but he wasn't in the series, as far as I remember.

Through my osmotic Trek knowledge, I believe that if there isn't something at a higher level of canon that contradicts a statement at a lower level, then it's canon.
