Rest of it, I can't stand (with the possible exception of "Big")
Dragnet as well, simply for the "Pagan Dance" scene in the chief's office.

Dragnet (the 1987 film) is bloody brilliant and I refuse to countenance any dissenting opinion.

I think I agree with HP in spirit but Lang Spoon in practice on the OP question.

Came in to say Robin Williams. I think he only turned off the schtick for One Hour Photo, which is a brilliant film.

Ah! The "He was good in that one thing, but otherwise...." reminds me to say Jim Carrey. My god he's unwatchably horrible or horribly unwatchable.

I really ought to dislike Carrey much more than I do. I don't know why I don't. Maybe I'm just not putting the effort in.

I love Jim Carrey - the slapstick in things like Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura is perfect Sunday afternoon, lounge around, watching. I also love him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Ace Ventura contains really nasty anti-trans bigotry, one of the reasons I need to put more effort in disliking Carrey. Eternal Sunshine is one of the reasons I don't.

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy most certainly killed people's kids with their long-standing anti-vaccine stupidity. Plus OTT mugging does my head in, and that's pretty much his stock-in-trade.

                        Google Cathriona White, and Cappawhite.

It's only the Truman Show for me with Carrey. His OTT mugging makes him unwatchable in anything else.

                            Seconded.

That was the first Christopher Nolan I saw, set the tone for boring as fuck masquerading as art quite well.

He's great in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. And I'll forgive him for The Mask and Dumb & Dumber as well.

Yeah, Carreys a weird one. Obviously it worked in The Mask, Dumb & Dumber is great, The Truman Show is brilliant and Ace Ventura I really enjoyed until that bit, which totally soured the entire film.

Having seen Adam Driver on Graham Norton’s show I have to withdraw my dislike. He doesn’t take himself too seriously which is essential for all celebrities.

Best description of his films I've heard.

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't buy into him as some sort of cinematic visionary.
