Lack of football commentary in TV / Films

Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads

    Big Brother in 2002.

The inmates were allowed to watch fifteen minutes or so of England and Nigeria’s rather tedious 0-0 draw with the sound off.

In the Thin Blue Line, one episode revolves around a Cup tie between Gasforth and Chelsea, but ends without any fictional footage or commentary occurring.

IIRC 'Endeavour' has an episode that includes the day of the 1966 World Cup Final - again no footage or commentary.

'Homeground' - a film from 1982 of someone trying to reconnect with Sunderland after the 1973 Cup Final.

In Auf Wiedersehen Pet Neville strives very hard to get commentary of the Sunderland match that Dennis and Oz went to without him, and gets bent out of shape when it turns out he's listening to an Ajax match. This despite 1) him being a Newcastle fan and 2) the game being possibly a pre season friendly (I don't think it is ever clarified, but elsewhere in the episode some Sunderland fans make a big deal of Sunderland's chances of ever winning the FA Cup again).
