Over the course of the past week's Netflix viewing the venerable Dean Norris popped up in four unrelated roles (Better Call Saul, Superstore, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Evan Almighty- don't ask). It prompted me to check out his CV.... it's pretty extraordinary. I make it 48 film roles and 113 TV roles.

I expect that some of the old contracted actors definitely could. However, I agree with you about Dean Norris. He turned up in The West Wing the other day and is probably the most regular "Oh, it's....." spot.

The Big Bang Theory is repeated so often , you don't have to wait too long to see Norris in that as well.

Having just seen JK Simmonds in two consecutive films, I thought he might be a candidate- 76 films but his 67 TV appearances let him down somewhat
