I fancied her in that thing with Paul McGann in the 80s. Looking at her age now she must have been in her late 50s then!

Sad news, although decent innings and all that.

What with Bill Withers the other day its been a bad week for celebs whose names are punchlines to old jokes, bet Fatima Whitbread is crapping herself.

            I don't think that's a symptom, is it?

It was Paul's brother Joe in The Upper Hand.

HB was very striking, while essentially the same, in everything she appeared in. I saw her in an early '70s episode of Columbo the other weekend, quite a prestigious guest spot at the time. She also published a self defence manual, which would sit happily on the shelf next to the Len Deighton cook book.

I met her once, about 20 years ago. I booked her to present a 'James Bond' concert which our orchestra was giving. She was rather 'high maintenance' but absolutely charming in person.
                  RIP

RIP. I hope to mark her passing by watching something off my DVD set of the wonderful Season 3 of the Avengers.
