    BBC4 The Story Of Musicals

OK, I'm an interested party, but this is well worth a watch, paricularly episode 2 where they recount the West End taking over Broadway. Although you can't help thinking, with all his wealth, couldn't Andrew Lloyd Webber afford a proper haircut?

The story of Musicals, by Hobbes.

"Some cunt invented musicals. For some reason, no one beat him or her to death before they could disseminate the idea.
The world was ruined from that day forth by the very existence of musicals. Satan rose in the form of Andrew Lloyd Webber. (You can tell because the brimstone has melted his face.)
    The end."

Is this a completely new documentary series? I remember the BBC doing a History of Musicals programme a few years ago.

I was going to watch it, but then it seemed like the Andrew Lloyd-Webber content far exceeded the recommended adult dose.

Ditto. The one I saw advertised seemed to start with Oliver!.

What ever you say about ALW, he created a hell of a lot of jobs in my industry. Doesn't mean I like him or his music though!

                Gershwin started it, didn't he?
