    The channels only you watch

As a fan of documentaries, and a regular viewer of same on TG4, I noticed that a lot of their programmes were produced by the Franco-German station ARTE, and went browsing their website. Like most stations, they now have a player, and even in English a wide range of series in different genres, but you'll get the maximum benefit in terms of output if you choose French or German.

I'm in France this weekend and watched a doc about Jane Birkin on Arte last night, which was followed by a Bowie doc but it was late and I didn't get far into it. I'll check out the online player, thanks for that.

To go back to the question though, I go through phases of watching Euronews as a change from the domestic news channels in the UK.

      ARTE is ace.

They also sell a good deal of their back catalogue on DVD

Didn’t know they had a player, so I’ll check it out. I sometimes watched Euronews when they had live coverage of riots

ARTE's pretty good (and it's rare I compliment German TV).

Mind you, so is KI:KA (the children's channel).
