    Brittany Murphy

Dead at 32 of a heart attack, according to t'internet.

Real shame if it's true. Trying to remember what I've seen her in - Sin City, sure, and a surprisingly decent straight-to-DVD action film with Mark Dacascos (Drive? Driven?).

I knew her husband at uni. He was a right slippery slimy chancer, as I recall. I used to vaguely wonder what became of him, from time to time. I never knew he'd become a Celebrity Husband until today.

I bet no-one really paid much attention to this story from a few weeks ago.

Bloody hell - she was really good. Off the wall and always watchable.

            That's no age.

I was a bit surprised about this, too, even if I personally found her screen presence just a touch annoying. A shame that, and the shock comes from the unexpectedness of it. RIP.

I had to look up who she was. But she was in Clueless, which I really liked. So, RIP then.

My favourite role of hers was her turn in Drop Dead Gorgeous. A small role, but very well played.

A brilliant movie overall, I might add. Ellen Barkin, Allison Janney and Kirstie Alley were all fantastic, and the writing and pacing were surreal - almost like a Simpsons episode.

Seconded. I was surprised how good it was, and how hard I was laughing. Denise Richards was very good.

I thought that movie was awful. Condescending and mean toward smalltown people. I don't remember Brittany Murphy in it, however, so my memory of it may be distorted somehow.

She was the one with the gay brother in NY. And who gave up her place in the finals so that Amber could dance.

It was a mean movie all-around, Reed. Condescension to smalltown people is easy and cheap, I'll admit, but it was far more mean towards people who use religion to score points and favor from others.

She was a good Jersey girl, even sharing a house with Thomas Alva Edison when she lived in Edison, NJ.

I absolutely loved her character in 8 Mile, one of the great puti flitis in cinema, as was her maniacal ho-cake in Sin City.

Wonderful actress, so thanks for that BM.
