Leeds Film Festival

Anyone going to any screenings?
It's picked up over the last few years and I now think its a great little festival, especially if you like sci-fi films.

I'm off to see the French animation from the 70s, Fantastic Planet, tomorrow and the Mighty Boosh stuff on Sunday (presented by Howard Moon). Will probably get to something else next week, the film quiz and David Lynch short film screenings look good next Tuesday.

Leeds Film Festival

Can't go this year, 'cos I'm not in Leeds anymore - but it's usually excellent.

I had an embarrassing incident at it last year, though. A very attractive girl I slightly knew was working in the ticket office. As well as meeting her there when I went to buy a ticket for Mermaid, I had bumped into her on the street, quite at random, four times in the previous three days.

So on the fourth day, I went in to get a ticket for Tarkovsky's Stalker. She was, again, working in the ticket office. Meeting number six in four days.

"Oh, Hi Toro! This is getting a little weird!"

"Erm, it's about to get a bit, er, weirder..."
