    Barry Hines

    Author of A Kestrel for a Knave (filmed as Kes), and other books (but obviously Kes is by far his most famous work) and writer of the screenplay for Threads has died.

    Didn't realise that he was behind The Price Of Coal, Looks And Smiles and Threads as well.
