My kids have wanted me to read the books to them at bedtime. Some bad writing in there, and we've gotten to the part where we find out that the elves work in Hogwarts as unpaid servants, all who speak in minstrelsy language. Rough stuff.

I've written on here before about how many of her villains are "fat and ugly". Her comedy characters tend to be fat too.

Her first three HP books are alright. Then she got popular and her books tripled in length and halved in quality. I read the fifth one and it was tedious with so many tangents and unnecessary scenes that I decided not to bother with the rest.
