    Books on Depression

There seem to have been a few depression memoirs in the last few years, such as by Ruby Wax and Glen Wilson (the latter specifically on the last World Cup) and I was wondering if any of them have been helpful to posters here in coping with the illness. I don't mean in terms of specific tips (there is no DIY manual for this illness, which is irrational by nature and thus resistant to logic) but in terms of a shared empathy?

I haven’t read any of them. Perhaps I should. I did like Pema Chodron’s book on it though.

I found Dorothy Rowe's Depression: the way out of your prison helpful. Was a long time ago though.

Every time I see Alistair Campbell talking about it I want to throw up.
