Have just bought for 99p each:

    Midnight in Chernobyl
Ken Burns' book on the Vietnam War
An Honourable Defeat: A History of German Resistance to Hitler, 1933-1945

Also Anne Applebaum's 'Twilight of Democracy' is on there for 1.99 at the moment, can definitely recommend that one.

Welcome to OTF, Huey666, and good work starting early in your career with the great OTF tradition of going off the topic of the thread with a controversial 1.99 recommendation.

Oh, on the contrary! It's a long-established OTF tradition.

Just browsed a 99p offer on 'First in series': all sorts on offer

I bought Irvine Welsh's Crime, Dune (which I've never read) and took a punt on a couple of crime and spy titles- William Shaw and a Berlin WW2 one.

Heartily recommend Dibdin and Ellroy for 99p!

Just snapped up Andrey Kurkov's Death and the Penguin, which I've heard of as a classic of post-Soviet Russian literature, for 99p.

I just got given that in more traditional paper-based form for my birthday the other week, and very much looking forward to giving it a look. Think it'll be next-but-one on my reading schedule.
